ADHD NATURE OR NURTURE?

What evidence do we have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder exists?

Why are so many more people being diagnosed with ADHD?

Do the range of symptoms defined as ADHD fit under the autism umbrella?

Why are some ADHD symptoms contextual?

Learn the answers to these and many other questions in the book ‘ADHD Nature or your Nurture?’

The book explores the likelihood of genetic predispositions and environmental factors in the development of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder – said to be an autistic spectrum disorder.

It delves into scientific research that examines how inherited traits and external influences such as parenting styles, education, and social environments contribute to the manifestation and severity of ADHD symptoms.

By presenting research, life observations and expert analyses, the book offers a balanced perspective that challenges the simplistic view of ADHD as solely a hard-wired genetic condition.

It ultimately encourages readers to consider an evolutionary approach to understanding and managing ADHD, emphasising the importance of both nature and nurture in shaping individual experiences.

What inspired Grace to write this book?

‘Being diagnosed suddenly at the age of 52 after a triggering work situation came as a bit of a surprise. Given my past, I knew some of my behaviours were emotional in origin, so hearing I had a condition that was genetically hard-wired was hard to hear. Subsequently, the sceptic in me thought this unlikely to be the whole story. I spent a year researching and discovered a surprisingly simple, painless remedy to my worst, life limiting symptoms.’
